  Raids on rooms for Cd's? That's rather over the top!
  
  On the form to apply, it asks if you have viewed entertainment or listened to music that is sexually explicit in nature, or violent etc. Many of the applicants did not even apply for that reason. Not that they were bad kids, it was more that they had seen it involuntarily, and didn't want to lie on a technicality.
  
  
  I know the CO listened to Norah Jones though. (sp?)

  Hypocrisy in expectations???

  ok, i am not very experienced in the field of females.. recently, my mother and i were talking about courting, and other stuff like that.. a sister recently stopped courting a brother because "he was ready to get married too soon".. i understand rushing into things can get you into trouble.. however, the sister had said (after the first date) "this is the one i want to marry".. so, my question is why the hypocrisy??.

  she was saying he was the one after 1 date; he was - after a month.. she broke it off because he was too quick?!

  this isn't the first time something like this has happened.. i can come up with at least 3 or 4 other relationships where the female has ended it because of the male being too eager.. yet in each circumstance the female was quicker than the male to jump to conclusions.. .

  I live in an area with few males.
  
  Females will dig claws in as many males as possible until they have the one they like.
  
  Often they will claim males to calm the "old maid" fear, and the realize that it was really dumb.
  
  The male being happy accepts the initial offer, and when the female realizes she claimed him to get rid of her anxiety of not having a mate, she will move to "greener pastures", thinking he is moving to fast, forgetting she called it.
  
  JW girls in my area are terrified of being left behind.
  
  In non witness terms though, females are irrational anyway, I am one and have trouble still.

  I would be paranoid the WTS would be logging my site visits.....I don't think they would dare come here, although the higher up members may visit just to know if they need to do damage control for any matters of apostasy.
  
  Either way I have visited/stayed at bethel before applying...I can tell you what I know, I also had several friends, all of which were pretty honest about it.

  My childhood wasn't ruined, my parents took every anniversary and report card and turned it into a huge present laden party, and on Halloween, we got to raid price slashed candy.
  
  I could read chapter books by the time I was five, and overcame my social anxiety disorder because I was lucky.
  
  The only time I hated it was when I quit, because I don't think it is fair to have kids and expect them to believe their religion. I was good and respected their beliefs up until the moment I moved out. I now do what I like but tactfully avoid discussing it with my mom. We are all happy.
  
  I feel sorry for kids that convert in,because they had other things before, their parents are often dumb and don't supplement what they take away.

  yes, i like to gaze around during prayers, especially big ones.

  twice now i have seen the chairman or concluding speaker finish the song, approach the speaker stand, say "let's approach god in prayer," and at the last second pull out a index card size of paper with writing on it.

  he kind of cups his hand over as he lays in on top of the song book.

  I've seen it for brothers new to prayer, and older brothers that have poor memory. Some people may be anxious. One brother that had bad memory had to start doing it since his prayers were up to eight minutes long!

  I think the society would be concerned about those sites since they contain "apostate" material, only with a JW reply, and the society is concerned the "bad" info may be passed onto people.
  
  Also, the society may be afraid that unofficial replies may be fodder.
  
  When I was in "the truth" the only sites that actually irritated me were the ones that did all your study for you, so you never had to look up scriptures or search for your own info.

  we have been dfed for almost 3.5yrs and have been trying to get back in for 2 yrs and we are getting the runaround.. anyway..... here is the letter my pregnant wife received from her elderess pioneer mother.. .

  Please do not take that as a typical JW response. Much of my family is disfellowshipped and my I guess you could call them "higher up uin the organization" family is very kind to them. It is not expected that families will be all buddy buddy with someone that has been disfellowshipped since they are often there for a reason. I myself am not a witness, but I think they have rules for a reason. Each person decides the limitations of contact with the disfellowshipped, so it is more of a your mother in law issue than a JW issue. When you are a JW parent, if your child is sick in the hospital, df'ed or not, it is your responsibility to care for your children.
